Providing Pronouns Makes a Big Difference

I am proud to have co-authored this post with my teammate and key member of The Olympia Collective, Bowie McFadden (they/he). — Olympia (she/her/hers)

As we approach the 50th anniversary of the NYC Pride March, providing pronouns in the workplace and on professional profiles (@LinkedIn, why isn’t there a field for this, the same month that you turned your logo to a rainbow for Pride?) is a practice that should be normalized. This simple act makes a big difference in ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment.

At The Olympia Collective, we encourage our team members to include their pronouns, if they feel comfortable doing so, in their email signatures, business cards and on our website. Pronouns are often taken for granted, but making a point to include yours is a simple yet impactful way to show your support as an LGBTQIA+ ally.
